Book club

True to our educational philosophy of providing a multifaceted educational and cultural experience to our pupils –but also their parents– we were among the first private language schools to establish and run Book Clubs.

Their mission, widely disseminated outside Greece, is to cultivate a love of reading and languages, revolving around books.

The process is simple:

- We select a book
- We read it individually
- We arrange a group discussion on the book
- The discussion is coordinated by our experienced teachers

This offers many benefits to pupils:

- They broaden their horizons and realize the necessity of extracurricular education;

- They are provided with opportunities and incentives to make alternative use of their leisure time;

- They consolidate their language skills, as we recommend noteworthy foreign-language books that are suitable to our pupils’ level of language ability and knowledge;

- Their parents are also involved, in the framework of the Adults’ Book Club.

During the two years of operation of our Book Clubs, both pupils as well as their parents have shown an enthusiastic response and great interest
The Book Clubs’ activities will be further enriched through the participation of Greek writers at our meetings, visits to book fairs, the exchange of books and through any other original idea proposed by participants.

We currently run two Book Clubs:

- LC Student Book Club: The Book Club of our students, which has been operating for the past three years.

- LC Book Club +: The adult Book Club, which was established in April 2011 and meets both in the specially set up venue within our premises, as well as online at http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_135548716517166
